Anyone read the Sword of Truth books? Yes this is Skyrim rel

So, unless you have read these books, you won't really know how to help me, but, from a role play standpoint, I created my first character as Richard Rahl. Now, staying as close to his personality as Skyrim allows, would he join the Stormcloaks or the Imperials? This will really help me make my decision on who to join.

I only watched legend of the seeker series which was pretty good. I think he would join stormcloaks since he seems to always fight for the underdog and vs the imperials is like vsing darkenraul.

I was actually thinking the same. :) I'll most likely go with Stormcloaks this round.

Depends on if we are talking young Richard or older Richard. If young I would say he would go for the more empowering if the two. If older, it would be a calculated choice based on what is best for both Kahlan and the entire world. When he is older his sense of morality is much more defined and has much more influence on his choices.

Edit: imo the TV series was garbage. Do yourself a favor and read the books. :)

Edit: apparently I have trouble with editing using my Droid :D

Funny, I'm in the middle of book 4 right now. I don't know much about either faction so can't really say.

I would like to battle a Mriswith or Mord Sith in game.

If you're playing Richard, then most probably you should join the Stormcloaks, since the Imperials ARE TEH COMMUNISTS! Also be sure to kill anyone who dissagrees with you, but be sure to give them a lengthy speech on why your oppinion is better than theirs beforehand.

A sidenote: anybody read the Omen Machine?

You would LIKE Mord Sith in the game? Hmmm....

Agreed.

I have only seen the first episode, but to me Richard is the kind of guy who would join neither of the sides and just fight whoever that is abusing their power, whether it be the Stormcloaks or the Empire. However, for gameplay reasons I would say that you should join the Stormcloaks. :)

Meh. First few books were interesting, until the series started turning in a giant Randian author tract.

Based on the parts I read, early Richard would go with the ones that seem good/right (and that choice would then lead to a worse threat than Alduin emerging.)

stormcloaks brutish appearance have more in common with Jagangs imperial order army.

but the dominating empire have more in common with their overall agenda, I imagine the Dharan troops to look more like empire troops than stormclokes.

Good RP anyway... except you cant avoid the damn dragon thing when playing stormcloaks :( I wanted to play a pure rebel now Im having to go through Bleak falls barrow to continue the stormcloaks questline.

Yes, Richard wouldn't join either camp. He would try to stop the dragons from destroying everything. He would assist in localized conflicts with or against either the Empire or Stormcloaks depending on what's going on, with a priority of protecting the general people.

Spoiler
For example, he would help the Greymanes out and thus raid what is essentially an Imperial fort. This may escalate later into him "joining" the Stormcloaks, because the Empire might try to kill him, but that's an indirect result.

Richard would join whichever side would stand least in his way while he incinerates townsfolk throughout Skyrim.

Wait, sorry, wrong Richard. When you said Sword of Truth, I thought http://www.lfgcomic.com/page/15.

When I read the title I immediately thought of the "Sword of a Thousand Truths" from Southpark.

Anyone else?
