There's a lot of land outside of Skyrim's borders.

I thought this was really neat. Note that they even made a model of the tower in the Imperial city.

I wonder why they made so much land out there.

Wow! This is really nifty! I sort of wish they would have made a breakdown of when you can see which city in the video's description though...

Not necessarily. New Vegas had huge stretches of unused land too, but all the DLCs were in separate world spaces.

Because people will climb mountains and it would be the scandal of the century in some peoples eyes if they got to the top and saw blue screen beyond the mountain ranges?

This is interesting, since Skyrim and Oblivion both use basically the same engine maybe some time down the road modders will be able to integrate some form of both games together?

DLC is in the works. Xbox will have it first then other consoles following. I really do hope they add on Expansions as wel! Maybe even adding coding to co-op play?! :brokencomputer:

It seems strange that they would spend the time to shape other provinces even if it is only basic.

They probably didn't do it by hand.

I did read some where from Todd that dlc will be huge compared to other dlc from the past, not including shivering isle i think that was a strait up expansion. They are going to focus on just a few large dlc and fewer numerous smaller dlc. Skyrim certainly has a clean slate to work with after seeing this it leads me to believe some of this land will be utilized in a dlc but I could be wrong.

I think other provinces are a taboo to touch for the TES games. It's likely that the expansions or DLC will lead either to a land separate from Tamriel, an island in the north, or a new place within or underneath Skyrim.

Please. Todd Howard gives as much of a crap about the lore of the TES games as a 5 year old cares about the lore of Donkey Kong. He's already tore the [censored] out of it in Skyrim, what's it matter what he does next?

It would have been nice to see the town of Bruma down at the southern border, even if you couldn't actually visit it. :)

That video reminds me of the terrain in Far Cry. Most of their maps have VAST amounts of land outside the normal playable area, most of it covered with trees and vegetation.

I would guess the presence of the White-Gold Tower is a developer in-joke- it could be seen from all over Cyrodiil, and some developer threw it in so that in the unlikely event someone could see it from Skyrim, it would be there.

Yeah, makes me miss Morrowind. :/
If only its equal would surface in current-gen games...

Oblivion had a lot of land outside it to, but it was never expanded and the darned modders never seemed to do anything with it.

Most lore was changed in Morrowind actually, Skyrim has the least "lore tearing" in 3 newset games...
