1) If I buy a house....can I sell it?
2) Is there a difference in the type of hide I collect (goat, wolf, etc)? Or does it all just get tanned into the same quality leather?
3) Do I need to buy a house in order to have access to secure storage for things I do not want to sell?

There is only one leather quality. I don't think you can sell a house and I would not store anything I wanted to keep anywhere but an owned home.

No u cant sell them, its all the same leather, and there are safe containers in the world you just need to test them, if u find a place you like stick something non valuable in one of the containers, then come back after like an ingame week or so and if its still there the you are good.

Buy a house. Put your stuff in it. You can't sell it. But you can buy multiple houses, and stash stuff in them all.

1) Don't know.

2) Different hides produce different numbers of leather. Wolf hide = 1 leather. Bear hide = 3 leather.

3) If you leave stuff in any old container around town, chances are it will disapear. If you don't have the cash
for a house, go to markarth. There is an abandoned house there. You have to do a quest to get rid of
the haunted house feel, but after that it's usable.
