what about an optional HI-RES TEXTURE PACK for dl on XBL?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:07 pm

I came here to ask if we might see an optional, hi-res texture pack on the XBL Marketplace in the near future. Which we could download for FREE and run an install of hi-res textures to HDD, much like Rage and Battlefield 3 provided (but on the disc in their instances.)

Howveer, I didn't realise there was actually a texture bug on 360 haha!

This is the email I tried to send Bethesda earlier, but their contact/feedback section is down (probably over getting "OMG WTF TEXTURES?!!" messages haha)

Read on and please let me know what you think............

"Hey guys.

Congratulations on Skyrim! This game is phenomenal.

I am playing on the XBOX 360 and wanted to ask if you are considering a texture upgrade pack in the future?

After playing both Rage and Battlefield 3 with the hi-res textures installed, I am slightly disappointed the console version of Skyrim did not launch with a hi-res texture install option. I'm guessing the texture images on the PC version are a lot better, and I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 had better ones too.

Regardless, I enquire as to if it would be possible to create a texture pack, which we could use to install better textures for the 360 version, which could be added by you to the XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE?

I hope you can launch an optional texture pack on XBOX LIVE, so we can truly experience the best game this generation of consoles has to offer.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

"

You do realize there is a bug with the textures, right?

We will have to see~ The reason they did not release a texture pack is because Skyrim is a hugeee open world RPG with a crap ton more in it then Battlefield 3 and Rage, so it probably cant handle it, since the Xbox is old and outdated.

What you said doesn't make any sense. That same old and out dated system is running Rage and BF3 at high resolution textures. All Bethesda has to do is make a DLC to enhance the visuals.

P.S. They probably couldn't add anymore to the disk as it was already full with what is currently on it.

Battlefield 3 is a small (well, compared to an RPG) part of Paris being loaded at once. Compare that to Skyrim, which is practically like loading all of Paris at once.
