Hi,

I received my Skyrim PC copy 48h ago... Hard to wait I must say.

So I was very happy to finally launch the game, but... I got an error as soon as the game try to launch : "Fail to initialize renderer"...

AMD phenom II X4 3.2Ghz
MSI GeForce 450 GTS (Nvidia drivers 285.58)

Any idea please, I'm really disapointed...

One of three things is broken, and the graphics driver is most likely. If not that, it's Dx9, yes, Dx9, not Dx10, not Dx11. If reinstalling those isn't it, the game files are corrupted, and you must uninstall, then reinstall.

Ok, just downgrade to Nvidia drivers 280.26.

Now the game seems to launch, will see if all goes well now.

Edit : k, it smells good -> 1st launch with last driver : the game was detecting low settings for every grapghics settings.
-> After downgrede : high quality everywhere ! Good game all =)
