[REQz]Difficulty level between Adept and Expert

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:51 am

So I fought my first dragon 1v1 and was severely disappointed. I turned my difficulty from adept to expert, and was immediately 3 shotted by a sabre cat. Also disappointing.

Same thing last night:I fought a big spider and easily defeated it, so I reloaded the recent save and fought it again and it was laughable. I died in 2 hits.

I really feel that there should be a difficulty in-between adept and expert, so I'm putting this request out there.

I also feel adept and below have little difference between the settings. It's all too easy. I was going to test the harder modes next time I played, but that sounds a bit severe from what you are describing.

It's the enemies themselves. Sabre's are very tough, while Dragons (green ones) are weaker so you can aquire your signature shouts. Try fighting a frost (white) or brown (not sure what they are called) dragon. Those are supposed to be much harder.

I haven't experienced a wide range of enemies yet. I never get far into the game before I leave to update my bug list on the support forum. And then I get sidetracked trying to help everyone else out. :P

But from what you said, I'll wait longer then and play with the difficulty settings some more. It just feels strange one-shotting everything I've encountered so far. I haven't even gotten scratched. What setting are you using when you say sabres are very tough?

I'm on... Adept? (3/5) Sabre's are a good tough fight. Dragons are too, but I have plenty of time to heal while it circles above, and once it's on the ground my Claymore makes quick work of it.

Try fighting bears (somewhat hard), or giants and mammoths (really hard).

Alright. I'll give this some more time and testing before contributing further thoughts.

It only changes dmg multiplyers. The higher the difficutly the less dmg you deal, and the more dmg enemies deal.

that is terrible why do you do less dmg that just makes fights more tedious. Just make the enemies dmg change. Are there ini values for difficulty?

Not sure. But that does make it more difficult. It gives them more of an edge over you....

The first two dragons I fought were frost. I felt in no danger whatsoever at any point in either fight. Then again I am nord and take 50% reduced frost damage.

I suppose next time I see one I'll turn the game up to expert before I fight it and see where that gets me.

Sabre Cats and Bears don't feel like a challenge to me either on adept.

Like I said, I'd really like to see a level between the two.

Yeah, I too found adept too easy, and expert just too hard. I get killed by ice wolves, and bigger ice spiders in one or two hits. I can't attack more than one bandit. Also, I got smacked by a giant's club like a baseball and flew 200 feet into the air. (But, I'm pretty sure that last one is a bug)
