To catch me up on what's going on -

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:39 am

Hello, first off i want to say thanks for reading. I'm a bit behind on what is going on with Rage and the fix's that have come out. Could anyone tell me if i should be downloading these current Rage driver's? I heard they don't work, so should i just wait until later today when a driver may be released?
And one more question, is there any necessary steps i should take to ready my computer for the next driver they come out with? I have a Radeon HD 6870

Rage doesn't have many texture problems at all for me compared to what other are showing in screenshots, it's mostly screen-tearing here and there that start making me sick :P. From what i have played Rage is an amazing game, that i hope will be officially fixed soon, as I'm waiting to start actually getting into it.

Thanks again for reading,

If you have a recent version of Catalyst (released within the past year or so), then it should not be necessary to uninstall/sweep registry, etc., in order to install new drivers.

If the screen tearing is your main problem, you might want to try either forcing vsync in Catalyst or using the Steam launch option command for vsync (don't recall what it is offhand).

Steam launch command for v-sync is:

+r_swapInterval "1"

In your control panel make sure you have v-sync not forced. (or if this launch option doesn't work: remove it and try to force v-sync in the control panel)

Thank you I'll write that down, i had already enabled Vsync to always be on through CCC. Good new's - Using Vsync through CCC and using a Rageconfig.cfg through Steam Forums i found yesterday morning i have absolutely no problems so far, hopefully it stays this way.

Edit: Spoke to soon, certain Npc's flicker, only a few out of many I've talked to, but this saddens me :/
