I am asking for support for an issue that I am not seeing adressed in other posts. The game starts fine for me the intial videos play fine for me. The title screen comes up and works as intended. When I select a new game, the intro video starts up and plays fine no issues. Afterward this is when the game fails, essentially from what I can tell the frame rate drops to almost nothing. I hear a sound repeated that is hard to desrcribe and various frames of the intro (the words project eden plays) if I wait about 10 mins I can see the capsule but have given up at this point. I have deleted all files and resinstalled twice. I have installed the lastest performance drivers and updated my ATI to the 11.9. I am not sure what else to do. The new ATI driver is not out yet as far as I can tell. I have also tried to update my steam to run the game with a larger video card cache.

My card is a ATI Radeon HD 5830 800m 1gb

Same here. But i have the Ati radeon 5850. I think ID will be unable to fix this game.
