Grid Lines (aka Texture Seams)

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:01 pm

Greetings all,

I am not entirely sure what this is or would be. I started experiencing weird artifacting – a sort of grid pattern across characters and visible seams between ground textures. It's like they seam lines from stitching the poly's together. There may be a fix for this and I do not know what the actual term for the what the anomaly is. I have taken a screen shot just out from the starting garage area of the female flying knife thrower. You can clearly see the lines on her midsection face and on the ground behind her. Any one who knows what the actual term for this is I would like to know so I know what I am looking for to find a resolution to the issue.

Thank you,
Mereinid

I am glad you are bringing this up because I have the EXACT same thing. I have no idea what it is called, I just assumed it was probably one of the terms people have been throwing around in other threads because I have seen it in their screen shots.

I had the same issues. It was solved by turning the AF down to 4x (GTX560 Ti). I hope it helps you as well.

EDIT: I believe they are called 'texture seams'.

I am having the same problem but i am also getting these weird gliches with characters since i made it to wellsprings where it seems like they are "ghosts" what i mean by that is they are in 2 animations at the same time but they are somewhat faded out and transparent and this happens to the sheriff and the mayor and a few of the non essential characters in town as well as enemies in Mutant Bash TV

Dont force any anisotropic filtering in the video drivers, leave the option as "Let the 3D application decide".

Thanks for the replies, I was somewhat positive that I could have been the only one with this issue. I have a AMD HD 5870, and by AF you are referring to Anisotropic Filtering? Mine was set 16X. Logging in now to check it out. *crosses fingers*

That did it..my boomerang girl is smooth skin once more. Got to love that "ProActive Lotion" ...of course it was disguised as Anisotropic Filtering 16X.. It all looks good now. So I have AF set to x4 and all of these in my Steam>Rage> Launch Options: +r_swapInterval 1 +vt_maxPPF 16 +vt_pageImageSizeUnique 8192 +vt_pageImageSizeUniqueDiffuseOnly 8192 +vt_pageImageSizeUniqueDiffuseOnly2 8192.

It looks nice, a slight texture pop happened when I did my first turn but it corrected and I haven't seen it in the past couple mins..

Thanks again, luck and loot to you all.

I did it and I still have them. I adjusted it to 4 in the config file and set my CC to use the application settings.

*Nevermind. I set the settings on my second video card and not my first one. You guys are right, it helps a lot. Thanks!*
