I'd like to hear regarding this. As we know, unlike WoW and other MMO communities, the Elder Scrolls forum is a combined world-wide server function, and so many people know each other across the continents here. I believe it'd split quite a few people up if the servers were labeled into "US" and "EU" servers.

What are your thoughts on this, and do you think there will be RP, PVE and PVP servers dedicated?

I vote for universal servers. Assuming that you have decent internet, the lag across the globe really isn't that bad.

Maybe we could choose which servers to play on?

Hrm, I was going to say something, but then that made me think.

You see, WoW's servers are segregated because WoW NA and WoW EU are actually two child companies of one parent company. That's (one of) the biggest reason(s) why you can't play on servers for another continent in WoW(Without having a subscription for it) because they're essentially owned by different companies.

I suppose groups of friends could always agree to pick a region, though.

That's the most likely scenario, since they accounted for latency, but no single server can handle all of the community at once.

I'd really hope for international servers like Final Fantasy 11 Online (FFXI) has. FFXI has it's faults but that was one thing I loved about it. There is no "peak" time, it's the MMO that never sleeps.

Latency isn't really an issue for MMOs like it is in, say, FPS games.

I've always found people begging for crap in other languages annoying as hell.

It's nice to mingle with an international group.
