A buddy of mine linked me to a leaked video (don't worry, no spoilers ahead!) where the player decided to behead an innocent chicken. As soon as the lifeless chicken hit the ground, the surrounding villagers immediately drew their weapons and attacked the player. The player, who decided to leggit, eventually lost the attackers by crossing a river and continued to make his way towards the nearest city. Upon arriving, however, the guards immediately drew arms and fired a volley of arrows his way to avenge the fallen chicken.

Why? How?

The village in which the player killed the chicken was remote and far away from the city, so it makes no sense what-so-ever.

This raised warning flags with me as it seems that the guards in Skyrim share the same telepathic abilities as the ones from Oblivion.

In conclusion; :sadvaultboy:

Or maybe the player has a habit of pissing off every town he comes across. So they were avenging a prior offense.

I'm not sure if your buddy was being entirely honest with you or not. Besides, there are several things in the background that we don't see such as pigeons and other devices that can carry messages to other places faster than the PC will travel.

Also, I believe this is not true because a town guard will not attack you if you he/she wants to arrest you. If your buddy (unlikely he/she actually played the game yet) didn't shealth his/her weapon then town guards would be hostile.

Maybe farmers can own animals? NPCs can already own horses, why not cows, chickens, pigs? In Fallout, didn't traders own their brahmins?
If you kill their animals, You get a bounty, if you don't surrender if caught, you get another bounty. If you don't go far enough to get a different regional bounty score, you're still wanted by the law.

Just a theory.

From the thread pinned at the top of this sub-forum:
While we are aware of the leaked game, we ask that it not be discussed here. Our forum rules forbid discussion of illegal activity and thus forum rules forbid the discussion of it. Please don't make threads about it, link to leaked material/videos/streams/screenshots/music. Discussion of gameplay or details in the game that were garnered from watching such videos may be discussed without mention of where you found it

If you're discussing spoilers, post them in the spoiler board. DO NOT post links to torrents, streams, music clips, offscreen screenshots, or give folks any sense of where they can find them. That could lead to a warning/suspension and possibly a forum ban.

Thank you!
