Theory on 360 Texture Issues....

Is it down to compression?

I remeber reading that the game would come on two discs, and you would then only have to swap once throughout the game. Then that got quashed, and it's shipping on one disc. And, with the new extra 1 gig capacity put into the dvd format I wonder if there is some sort of compression issue that's causing this problem?

With the Ps3 requiring a mandatory 5.5 gig install, us 360 users have a total install of 3.8gigs. Now, although the ps3 then runs off disc, some screens and textures have much more depth and are sharper.

I have noticed with this title and Dark Souls that my elite 120gig has the disc spinning for a minute or so after loading. Instead of the normal few seconds disc check and NO noise from the drive.

Does anyone with any more technical know-how have any theories about this?

I can see how Skyrim is a beautiful game - but the severity of the textures in some places is really killing the immersion and enjoyment of exploration. Bethesda, please fix ASAP!!

There was never 2 discs planned, where the hell did you hear that? The game turned out so small in size in fact it only used half a dvd, so if Bethesda needed more space they certainly weren't limited.

I'm playing from the disc on an xbox slim (260 gig) and notice no texture issues. However, the game does seem to cache a lot of date.Is it possible it is caching even when installed to HD and this is a space issue with people with small or full drives?

Perhaps people could post more technical information? I.e: Which Xbox, HD size, free space?
