A possible virus... or a false positive?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:08 am

I downloaded an exe file from here (all the way at the bottom) and installed it, but with the exe file it installed, when I open it up or scan it, my Malewarebytes says that it is a Backdoor.Bifrose. Not sure if it's a false positive or what. Avast is saying that it's safe. And when I scan it on VirusTotal, it says it's safe https://www.virustotal.com/file/0008d51977e09ff8b51f39fad672cc3ac5df836aad594c9f45a497a34f951f46/anolysis/1331409697/. Should I just ignore this, or get rid of it?

This issue can be resolved I think if someone could tell me why when I download the zip file and try to open up a love file with it by selecting the love.exe it doesn't do anything and doesn't show up on the list of programs I could open the file up with. The exe in the zip file is not reported as a virus by Malewarebytes.

Edit: Got my answer on another forum (false positive by the way, I hope).

I get "untrusted" as well and in the interests of safety I am removing it.
