So I hear a book is written about rage and I'm just doing research on it but find out that some things are different in the book than in the game. For instance in the book the president is female and hides in a mountain while in the game the president is male and is supposedly on one of the Arks.

Does anyone know how cannon the book is? Or is this like the only glaring difference between the two.

Also I heard the book had a different ending. Can someone explain to me the difference? Don't worry about spoiling it for me but I'm curious if the book picked up events where the game ended or were the endings completely different. I don't need a blow by blow account of the ending but a general summery would be nice.

Other way around it is a book based on the game and from the sound of it they changed some of the cannon details shortly before launch.
