According to EBGames support, AU retail copies aren't activating because it's 'Not the right time in America... Sorry about that.'

Check the Steam store page while you are logged in. That should give you a more precise idea when the game will unlock in your region.

2 things,

1) I'm sorry you've somehow ended up in AU
2) Even if you do activate it, the game is PLAGUED by bugs and constant crashes so don't rush to activate it just yet.

(Not here to join in the flame wars. I just want to check out my purchase, bugs and crashes don't bother me personally as I don't care about the game, just the engine.)

Have you tried opening a support ticket on Steam?

You probably can't activate till the 7th - it was the 7th for New Zealand anyway (when I checked for buying it on Steam, which should indicate when you can activate it also), and you guys are probably same as us.

According to my clock it's the 7th (12:48pm PST) & it still isn't activating retail key in AU.

I found out how to fix it

on the cd key thing

do not add it in when typing key add the stuff below it and that make it it 15 numbers

I specifically asked EBGames support about the serial key syntax (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) - they said nothing! derp. (probably didn't know what I was talking about...)

I found the same issue,

I just canceled the install then re- ran it.. the second time the box for serial key was just a single box

the first time i installed it it showed 5 boxes for numbers but the DVD only has 3 boxes worth of data.
