Are we still expecting an AMD driver today?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:02 am

Just wondering if the plan is still to release it today. Its getting late and CatalystCreator in yesterday's tweet talks about a unified bf3/rage driver in the "next couple of days". It would just be nice to know if I can forget about getting it today so I don't sit around waiting for it.

Post from Steam says today/tomorrow. See.....

Update from Bethesda

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost all the issues with RAGE are hardware/driver related and not an issue with the game itself.

Please note the following from Bethesda:

ATI and NVIDIA are working on updated drivers that should be released today/tomorrow that will fix multiple issues.

Bethesda is working on an update to allow for users to customize their video options which will solve many of the issues users are having.

Thank you for your patience with this matter. All parties are working as fast as they can to correct the problems with RAGE.

Sigh. I guess I'll just sit here and wait longer.

Never did understand Automatic graphics settings seems to me like the equivalent of insulting a boxer.......
Especially the ones that juggle settings on the fly to keep games at a certain fps

So i am definitely looking forward to customizable graphics settings almost as much as new drivers.

"Almost all the issues with RAGE are hardware/driver related and not an issue with the game itself."

So ... deciding to use auto-configure (game design decision), forcing 60 FPS (game design decision) not reading system specs properly (game bug), not enabling video transcoding for ATI cards (game design/business decision), not giving any options for changing graphics (game design decision), no option for v-synch (game design decision), resulting in totally crap textures, cira Doom 2, texture streaming and pop-in, screen tearing, flickering, artifacts, crashing on load screens, etc, etc ... are hardware/driver issues and not related to to the game itself.

Oh and then not testing the GAME before launch to make sure that the drivers are functional.

Ya this is all ATI/NVIDIA's fault I guess....

And all the hardware makers. Funny that other software I have seems to run fine on my hardware.

GIVE ME A BREAK iD / BETHESDA!

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE.

So basically the answer to the question is "No."

Did everyone catch the Dead Island virus? No statements, no updates, just guesstimates that get pushed back.
