ya know what. I dont care.

When i found out about TES:O last night. I was shattered. I thought that the future of the elder scrolls was going to crumble in on itself and that we would never get another good SP experience again due to the lack of surprise when we visit a new province. But after spending the last 5 hours on morrowind and skyrim, I dont care. Bethesda game studios has made the most fantastic games in history (in my opinion) and even though the more recent ones are trying to attract the majority of the crowd instead of just focusing on us old school junkys. I still stand up for skyrim. And with Bethesda's achievments in the past. I believe they will still be able to deliver. Even after Zenimax has shipped this online game. ( which i dont plan on playing unless it is truly spectacular).

Thanks beth for a great series. And im interested to see how the future of the series works out after this new franchise is shipped.

If you didn't care, you wouldn't have bothered with the 60 some seconds it took to write this post. Anyone who enjoys this series cares in some way or another, even if we all choose to deal with it differently... I'm not saying that caring will change anything, but I think everyone can pretty much agree that not caring won't see any positive results. Except maybe it'll all be out of sight, and out of mind. Ignorance is bliss after all.

They could make the provinces look like the backside of a voluptuous pony, but that won't have any bearing on what Bethesda might want to do in a future single player TES game.

Exactl-- voluptuous pony, what?!

Ah, either way I agree with your point. I just hope they change things around and do things right in the time that they have.

Yes exactly. But if they make the provinces look good, theres a possibility that beth will feel compelled to follow the design.

Bethesda should follow nothing this studio does.

Well, Bethesda already came up with the outlines for the design many years ago. They created Tamriel and the provinces and had geographical data written down. This and this is swampy, such and so is snowy and mountainous, that's deserty, forresty, etc. Zenimax Online will use that info and put their own spin on it.

No. what i mean is. When the day comes that TES 6 is released. There is a possibility that bethesda will follow the design more to the point. Like put buildings in the same places and therefore the amount of suprise and mystery will lowered dramatically

I've got to admit, my reaction was similar to the OP. At first I was shattered and now I don't really feel anything. I'll keep my ear to the ground and see where this goes but ultimately it'll be another exceedingly generic MMORPG which goes F2P in 6 months and belly up in 12. The only thing it'll really accomplish is to cheapen the franchise and piss on the lore; and that's the part which is most upsetting.

Pretty much, sadly. :/

Fair point. Maybe they realised that too and came up with the idea to have it dated 1000 years before Skyrim took place, that way they could later say that a lot of stuff changes in such a long period.

If the lore intends to be consistent and still create their own designs for cities and stuff, there can't be any ancient ruins used for cities like Markarth, or the land bridge for Solitude, that sort of thing, for any province. Also they'd have to follow the same heightmap and general landscape style they make. I'd prefer they just put the MMO totally out of canon. But I'm not confident they will.

Yes becuase having a pre-exsiting, lore justified, deus ex machina and using it to negate the parts of the MMO's lore they dont like is such a bad thing?

Oh, wait, wait. I got this flipped. I thought you meant picking the real Elder Scrolls' lore out a bit and replacing it with what they like instead of the versa of the real game picking off the bad from ESO.

Yeah, haha, that's exactly what I was thinking. "By the Nine, never, please, don't break this game anymore than it already looks to be!" haha
