Fortify Armor bonuses stack?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:05 am

I'm working on my Smithing and Alchemy skills and was wondering if bonuses stack?

For instance, if I made helm, bracers, armor, and boots...each with +5% Fortify Smithing.....will I get a total bonus of +20%? Or will it only pick the highest single bonus?

And where do you find Fortify Alchemy items to Disenchant? I'm level 30 and still havent seen any such item.

Thanks!

Yep, they stack, potions too. You've found the engine by which your game's world shall be sundered.

To find fortify alchemy enchants, check the clothing shop in Solitude.

It is good that there is no fortify enchantment enchant, or fortify alchemy ingredient.

wait..what do you mean potions stack too? do you mean if you drink 2 potions of Fortify Smithing 5%...you'll get a total of 10% ? so..i can drink 10 or more of them at once for over 100%??

Sorry, no, didn't mean to say it like that. I meant more that the enchanted gear stacks with the use of potions for similar effects.

The point being that you can use fortify enchantment potions to make better fortify alchemy gear to make better fortify enchant potions to make better fortify alchemy gear to make even better fortify enchant potions to finally make the ultimate fortify enchant/fortify smithing gear, and then fortify smithing potions.

Use those to make the best gear. And then use the excelent fortify enchant potions to enchant the newly crafted gear as best as possible. Game = broken. Such gear is easily superior to what can be located in game (even with how skills improve it). Fully enchanted/smithed daedric armour being worn by someone with no heavy armour skill is better than daedric armour being worn by a heavy armour master.

I've seen +130% fortify smithing potions, and roughly 29-30% fortify smithing enchanted gear (necklace, ring, gloves, chestpiece).

Yeah, it can get kinda crazy.
