I have been playing through Skyrim and I am loving it, but I cannot figure out how to inspect items as seen in the demo gameplay. He turns a shield 360 degrees in his inventory and I would like to know how to do this?

Starting to think it's not possible on PC version. That would really svck.

I don't have the game yet, but others have said going in to options and disabling 360 controller helps. Let me know if you figure anything out.

Holding the shield with left mouse button works fine here.
