Music Players

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:28 am

So, I'm looking for a new music player that's similar to itunes in its ease of use, but doesn't resemble a heaping pile of [censored].

More or less, I'm sick of itunes slowing down my Windows 7 computer, and would like to find another media player with a similar interface.

http://www.mediamonkey.com/, http://www.winamp.com/media-player/en, http://www.foobar2000.org/, http://getnightingale.com/.

Except MediaMonkey (not certain) they are all skinnable to look however you want.

foobar is a bit of a pain to skin but it is the greatest player EVAR!!!!!!11!11 if you don't mind its simple look. That and you have to be addicted to power customization. Feels so good.

For just moosic I have found none better. Though I haven't tried fiddling with other players as much as foobar, mainly because THEY ARE UNWORTHY.

I used Winamp for many years until recently. It's light, efficient, skinnable and really flexible if you decide to dig deeper into it. Nowadays I mostly use Google Music, It svcks in flexibility in comparison to a desktop app, but for me the ability to access my whole library from home, work and while commuting is worth the downsides.

Yeah, using Winamp myself still, if only due to the plethora of anime skins.

I don't know what interface iTunes uses for music playback (since I only use it to help confused iPod owners), but if you want something that won't slow down your computer then I recommend foobar2000.

I used Winamp ages ago until it turned into bloatware, along side Sonique, until using foobar2000 and pretty much stuck with that since. There's quite a number of media players out there though.
