STOP ! While your ahead Bethesda...

You have been one of the greater influnces in the development of the RPG. And now you are going to ruin it all by formatting The Elder Scrolls in hotkey bush fest like WoW and all it's resent clones like SWTOR. I thought you were more inavating then this, tell me this is a prank, tell me i didn't waist my time prasing you all for Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind.

I went as far as to wright a letter to Lucasarts stating that bethesda's teams would be the most apropit developers to but together a new Star Wras sandbox game like SWG 2 or what ever. So please to this Idea a save your selves before it is to late...

Here is my idea I have had for some years and if you pay ationtion closly you will understand it will work and be profitabl as well... I the golden age of video games arcades games like Pac-man were put together from scrach utilizing hardware to acomadate the software add now more hard ware then what was needed and not little.

So on to the Idea of a round world where you can go from point -A- back to point -A- at every Longatued and Latitude there can be. And a world like this in my oppinion would be best repisented in test persay to launch a new Idea into to rpg world and Tamrial would be the best setting. The world of Tamrial with no sort cuts and as seemless as posibble would exel not just Bethesda but the game indeestry ahead 5 fold. I would not develope this game as a all out MMORPG to start but a game where 10 friends could play together online in The Elder Scrolls fasion not WoW fasion.

This Idea gose back the the explanation of the golden age of gaming. to do this you will need to build a concel the acmadates this world of Tamrial because it will take both inavation and proccesors and RAM to make this possible. It would be a glorafide concel with the base purpose of supporting one game ( The Elder Scroll: The World With Out End)... Of course such a concel with such hardware would be able to play other games and music and video but be cause of cost would be wise to only allow Bethesada games to buy and play on this machian. I could go on and on but you get the point please take my idea, I beg you....

Edit: Forgive my spelling I have learning Disabilaties and I don't think the spellcheck works when you don't remmeber how to spell to begian with...lol

The development team on the MMO isn't the same as the development team that works on the Elder Scrolls single player series. Relax.

But still they are allowing the buthery of this game to take place... Not because WoW wasn's good in it's day and for what it is now. But Because they are selling out...

How on earth can you call this "butchery" when you haven't even seen a live demo of the game?

In no way it was Bethesda game studios choice it may of been Bethesda softworks or zenimax and you can't call a game butchery without actually seeing any gameplay If i judged a game on a couple of screenshots I would of never played Oblivion and never started playing the elder scrolls series or the fallout series

Even if BGS wanted to - how exactly do you think they are supposed to stop a game they are not making? Hell they don't even own the IP. It's all owned either by gamesas (NOT Bethesda Game Studios who are making offline TES in the first place) or ZeniMax (Again, not ZeniMax Online but the ZeniMax Media group, owner of gamesas and ZeniMax Online)

Unless I'm completely off, Bethesda is owned by Zenimax right?
Zenimax wanted a MMO so they set up their new studio.
So why would Bethesda have any say over it?

Obsidian and InXile don't have any say over Fallout anymore.
Bethesda could break canon and have Master survive and Obsidian and InXile couldn't do squat about it.

So why would it be any different now?

Zenimax will release this MMO whether people like it or not. I personally won't buy it because i've played my fair share of MMO's and i am frankly tired of them. I think the biggest mark you can make is just not buying the game, and reducing their sales.

You know what it's like? It's like if Activision did something like this:

HYPOTHETICAL PRESS RELEASE EXCERPT:

DOUBLE HELIX GAMES, makers of "Battleship: The Game" are currently developing a brand new MMO for Activision's acclaimed, signature first-person shooter franchise: "Call Of Duty."

Built upon the WORLDFORGE engine, COD: ONLINE, will feature a new and exciting third-person view from which to control your soldier! Pair that with the same MMORPG mechanics so many veterans are used to, with hotkey, timer-based combat, cooldowns, but in the fast-paced, hardcoe military environment of World War One and we can't lose! The story of CODO will be a pre-pre-prequel to the Call of Duty single-player games, that sees many familiar faces on dead old French people from the first COD WW2 game, as actual main characters that you and thousands of others will control across the theaters of WW1. Why not the core FPS combat of previous COD games? Well because in an MMO that would be technically IMPOSSIBLE! (Don't google "Planetside" please).

From the Sommes to Gallipoli, you will march across decimated wastelands and war-torn landscapes to finally fire one round from your bolt-action rifle and be immediately cut down by incessant, AI driven machine-gun fire that will guarantee a historically accurate outcome to the war. Keep in mind though, the rock-paper-scissors of hotkey-based 3rd-person combat! If your opponent uses his "Mustard Gas" AOE DOT then you counter with your "Gas Mask" Interrupt and press the number 2 to fire your gun at him. svck at aiming? Don't worry, all you have to do is tab target your enemy and you will hit him in the face every time. Battles will be staggeringly huge, sometimes up to 100v100 in the same battlefield! Did we say battlefield? We meant Call-of-Duty.

Also, we've decided to approach the art-style with a more cartoony feel to it. Considering the success of games like "Team Fortress 2" we've decided to basically copy that. It'll be great, you'll love it. You have to! It has "Call of Duty" written on it! You don't want people to think you don't LOVE Call-of-Duty do you? Think of how bullied you'd get in school, and that cute girl in class would never look your way again without a lifetime subscription to CODO! Since we also own Blizzard, we'll also be able to do some cross-promotion with you WoW veterans, who will feel right at home in the trenches of WW1 since all the battlefields are basically re-skins of Arathi Basin. You can even earn some new unique gear in CODO that will give your WoW character some new looks like, a German WW1 helmet with that cool spike on the top! Imagine your level 85 Goblin wearing one of those! Badass!

Last thing, the shareholders at Activision have said that if this doesn't blow away WoW's lifetime sales in the first week and score at least 103 on Metacritic, they will close the book on all future COD projects, regardless of genre or developer. It's only fair, since we've invested more money and manpower and time into this game than any other COD before. So if you want COD to continue, you will buy this game and subscribe to it. Forever.

Love, your "bestest pal evertm,"

↑ I just read the article in gi and I think it looks great. Probably won't play it since my computer wont run it. By the way it is Zenimax Online which is a separate studio that is making it NOT Bethesda. All Bethesda is doing is collaborating with Zenimax on lore.

Bethesda never started.

TES Online is not made by Bethesda.

Everyone can stop the off-topic spelling and grammar discussion as well. If you don't understand a post, don't bother to reply to it.

To be fair, it is being published by Bethesda Softworks and Pete Hines did call ESO "my game" on twitter, as well as the fact that BGS did consult on lore (why not the gameplay?! Why!?). So BGS aren't completely divorced from it.
