Im really confused about the "Stone" things like in the first preview you could use them and they just seemed like the stones in oblivion which changed things for a short amount of time, can you please explain them for me.

They have the effects of birthsigns, and the effects last until you activate a different stone.

The closest thing Skyrim has to a class system are those stones. Each of the 18 skills is divided into a category, Warrior, Mage, or Thief. 6 each. Activating a stone makes those particular skills increase faster. You can change which stone you have activated any time by visiting them.

If your talking about the birth stones they are what you select to get the perks permanently...so instead of choosing a birth sign at the start you find those and thats it....if thats what you are talking about

The one that you choose gives you a 20% faster increase in the skills that it governs. For instance, choosing the Warrior stone will level up your melee and heavy armor, etc faster.

You can also change to the other two at any time.

They increase the levelling speed of their associated skills by 30% (not 20). Addition there are 10 more standing stones that grant greater powers/other traits, however, we do not know much about these stones yet.

Actually it's just the first three stones that do that. The others provide other benefits, basically acting as replacements for the birthsigns.

Those under the sign of The Warrior will learn all combat skills 20% faster. - The Warrior Stone

Pretty sure it was 30% in the three-part demo, maybe they have decreased it since then.

Thank you for this thread! I was under the impression that it was like the stones in Oblivion, but now that I understand them better they have become much cooler! HYPEMETER +1
