1. The text in the Start menus & the text when you move the crosshair over a person/object is very small, and virtually unreadable in some cases. I'm using an old CRT.
Now, before you tell me to "buy an HDTV", I need to say that I can't afford one (in fact, Skyrim is the ONLY new game I could afford all year!), and of the two other 360 games I've played which had small text (PGR 4 and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts before the text size patch), in both cases the text was STILL reasonably legible! Also, I don't like the way flat-panel screens look, with poorer contrast ratio being my #1 concern (yes, I WILL take 480i resolution over a flawed image anyday!). Also, I've seen a couple of reports on this forum of the text being too small on a 32" HDTV...
And the sides are a bit cut-off as well.
2. Missing water.
Right after I got out of the opening dungeon, I walked northwest for a bit, and I came across a lake which had a section missing - I could see the riverbed and fish swimming and hear wet footssteps, but the water texture was not there! You could see where the cut occured - a sharp polygon edge of water in midair.
3. Looking around doesn't feel as good as it did in Oblivion.
And yes, I fiddled with all of the control options. On the highest sensitivity, it's too fast, and taking to down just one notch (or more) makes it feel kind of "off". Not necessarily slow, but slow-like. It's hard to describe, but all I know is that Oblivion has PERFECT looking mechanics!
I'm using a wired controller, BTW.
P.S. Is there anyway to have the health/stamina gauges onscreen all the time?
