where are ultra's textures?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:15 am

My English is not great so be indulgent.

If I post here is that I'm pretty angry at the lack of respect you have for PC gamers.

Lack of respect because you have sold a version limited voluntary.

The ultra mode is at present a scam because the ultra's textures are not available as well as some options (Management of shadows .... etc.)

I sincerely hope that you will soon make a big patch of textures to fix it .....

Some have been saying you have to manually set the graphics level using advanced settings.

Give it a try.

I have not waited for your advice to look at the advanced options.

There is no option to ultra textures.

Textures in game are just crap even with the options available to the maximum.

If ''horrible'' is it looking like most peoples' screens on Ultra, then no, there isn't a way to get better textures, that's what the game has to offer.

Ultra's not amazing - definitely looking forward to some high-quality texture packs by users.

However, there are a handful of textures that are REALLY bad (whereas most look pretty decent). Right at the start of the game (before you've even left the "tutorial dungeon"), I spotted these rabbits hanging up. These are the worst textures I could find. (so please don't think I'm saying everything looks this bad, these just stood out!) - oh and yes, everything is max/ultra

A fantastic "ultra" texture :

Virtually no management of shadows in game.........

Sorry but it's a bad joke that kind of image when we are supposed to be in Ultra mode.

That's what you get with a console port, let's hope for a High-Res Texture Pack.

It is not just a problem of HD textures but the abscence of graphic options to us days are unforgivable.

We sell come with a game mode called "ultra" does not even have proper management of shadows and dynamic lighting is just incredible.

When you comprare the screens that we presented to sell their game with shadows and textures of madness and eventually end up in a crappy quality as it is still making fun of the mouth of the players.

From what I've seen, it's an oversight on their end. There are a few people who have been able to change their settings manually (and makes the game look ridiculously awesome), but for the most part a lot of people only know how to use the slider. The first hint of going from Low graphics to Ultra and not improving anything should leave you with some sort of idea that somethings wrong. I'd have to find the thread again but someone posted earlier how to change them manually and it has to do with being outside the game. Seeing the hi-res shots from "true" ultra blows away anything i've seen on Xbox and PS3.

Here's a pretty good thread on it, showing some real details. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11#content

Didn't change anything for me. It's easy to take flattering screens of this game, but that doesn't mean the textures are good. Here are two screens from my game with all of the bells and whistles afforded by the ini and enabled as well as everything maxed out in the launcher: [http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/7418/skyrim2.jpg] [http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9093/skyrimj.jpg]

And yet, my game still also has textures like this (not my screen): [http://i.imgur.com/XWAjs.jpg]. Even on textures that look a little better, they're generally very grainy/pixelated, especially when compared to other Bethesda games.

I'm not saying Skyrim doesn't look nice. It does, and it has its shaders and models to thank for that. It's textures are terrible and could really use replacing is all.

Link works fine.

No change after test in ini.

It would be nice that bethesda respond to our message and begins to provide answers and solutions without having to tamper in the ini file of the game

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11# Might be a better link, the other I previously linked had an image up. Basically the article talks about changing the settings within the launcher and leaving a few things off like AA and object detail fade before going into the .ini file and further tweaking the graphics. Since I have not yet picked up my copy (2 more hours Q_Q), I've yet been able to test these changes myself.

Edit: I agree with the above statement as well since it shouldn't be the job of the community to fix their system by performing all these tweaks. Fortunately this community has an ample amount of gurus who are kind enough to help out the lesser tech savvy users.
