Been trying for hours to run Skyrim on my i5 nvidia 360m 4GB machine.

Tested most of the tweaks I found.

Nothing worked.

Suddenly, the FPS rate drops from 40-60 to 10-15-20! Then, wait a few moments and it runs normal again!?

The sound tweak to 96k helped a lot (I don't know why, since it was not the same problem).

Disabling Steam overlay also didn't help with this particular issue.

I tested finishing all non-essential (including antivirus) processes and using LOW settings. Nope, nothing there as well.

Lost a rare free night and couldn't play the game.

Really getting frustrated with pre-buying games nowadays. It looks like we are the beta testers

Hope a fix'll come out soon.
