iPhone internet problems

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:06 pm

I just had a quick question and I was wondering if other iPhone users could help me out. I have the iPhone 4 and lately the internet has been extremely slow. Pages will try to load and Safari will just say 'cannot open page' and apps that access the internet will often not work.

I've only used 90% of my data usage (which resets tomorrow) and I always have a good signal.

I have ATT and I've tried using my WiFi card (which is also ATT) and this helps for a few minutes but then it gets slow again. It seems when I switch back and forth between cellular and WiFi it'll work but then it slows to a halt again.

I restarted my phone last night and it didn't help. If I don't try to use it and then come back to it it will work for a bit but then it slows.

I have 1.62gb of data left on my WiFi card for the month, so even if my cellular data was being throttled I wouldn't think my WiFi would be.

Any suggestions? I haven't been able to update to the new iOS yet.

Hmmm. I have an iPad 2 and sometimes the wireless internet connection will slow to a stop or just won't receive the connection, even when my internet is working fine. I turn off my iPad and turn it back on, that usually solves the issue. Do you have 3G? That might have something to do with your problem.

It's not something to do with throttling is it?

Hmm... is there something wrong with the wifi signal? I have a 3G from 2007 and I haven't had any serious issues outside of odd connections to the wifi.

Yes I have 3g, yes I've restarted the phone. I tried resetting the network settings and then it worked for about 5 minutes but stopped again. I tried it again and it still didn't help. Still not working this morning and my data plan has reset. I have a great signal, I've always had a great signal in my room.
