Didn't really have many issues from the start (lucky me) but with a couple of tweaks it's now running perfectly bar some screen-tearing which I can't stop. My main issue with the game though is the poor, low-res textures. The cans on the shelves, railings, ladders ... all things like this look terrible and can only be fixed with improved textures. I'm using the 16384 sized textures through the config file so it's as high as I can get it, yet it still looks like a pre 2000 game. So my question is for someone at Bethesda/iD, are you releasing a texture pack for the PC or, are the textures already there but no displaying properly due to a bug, in which case are you fixing it?
Cheers.
Great game BTW.
I believe that due to the texturing technology, it would be infeasible to release an HD texture pack without destroying our brains (well, something in the neighborhood of 1tb). As far as a 'HD' or 'high-res' texture pack that people are hoping for, you can skim the forums for the link but I believe Carmack was quoted as saying one would probably be coming down the pike, just no estimate on the date (sorry don't have the direct link, but I've seen it in the forum).
/agree on the game being great once you get passed all the initial configuration problems and accept the fact that about 30% of the textures are just fixed at a very low res, even when you bump up everything in your cfgs, there is just that hard cap that makes many of them still look pre y2k.
