Fix for Nvidia...well partial at least.

First,this is my PC:
CPU: Athlon II 270
GPU: GTX460 768mb
RAM: 4Gb DDR2 800
Super ultra sh*tty Samsung hdd 500gb

Fixed screen tearing by forcing Vsync in Nvidia control panel. Fixed texture tearing by setting Anisotropic filtering to Application controled in Nvidia control panel. Fixed low frame rate and stutters, freezups by right clicking on RAGE shortcut on my desktop, going to properties and in target section added this at the end +vt_maxPPF 8
So it looks like this now: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Rage\Rage.exe" +vt_maxPPF 8
Increasing the number at the end decreases texture pop ups. Too high number may decrease performance depending on your GPU.
My main problem is that i still see some texture pop ups. My CPU usage is 100%, hdd is constantly busy and GPU usage is around 50% at all times.
Using latest Beta drivers for GPU.

Turning GPU transcoding on and off in the game had no effect before i added +vt_maxPPF 8 at the end of shortcut target.
Perhaps my problem is slow hdd? Idk. It's defragmented.

I have very similar specs to you.

CPU: Athlon II X4 635 @ 3.30
GPU: GTX460 768mb
RAM: 4Gb DDR3 1600
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB

I had the screen tearing but I also fixed that by forcing it in the Nvidia control panel. As for the other problems like texture pop ups, its a nope from me. Textures were fine even when I was using the 280.26 drivers and I always get 60fps with no stutters.

So the only real thing I can think of why you have problems is your processor. Quad cores may benefit vastly compared to dual cores.

Time for an upgrade or just wait and see if the patches can fix it for you.
