Implementing multiplayer in TES has been a prominent request on the forums for a long time... why? Because the first-person, live-action combat style that is so integral to the series can't be experienced ANYWHERE in today's MMO market. Instead, the market is flooded with wow clones, games which tried to capitalize on wow's success by copying all of it's mechanics, and ALL have failed to hold a candle to wow. Why? Because there's no demand for inferior wow-clones. Why not just play wow?
Do you know why GW2 is going to succeed where wow-clones have failed? It's because GW2 brings many new mechanics and innovations to the market. It's the first game that hasn't blatently ripped-off WoW's style 100%.
Elder Scrolls HAS it's own style, it's been an enormous financial success, and you're trading that unique integrity (everything that made the series so popular, everything that TES essentially is...), you're throwing all that out and copying wow's style. There's NO MARKET DEMAND for anymore wow clones! Don't you get it??? The whole anticipation for a TES MMO was because it was assumed that MMO would be first-person live-action like the rest of the series! It was assumed that game would bring the innovation to the market that MMO players are so starved for.
I mean how do you make multi-million dollar mistakes like this? You lease Hero-Engine, another huge mistake that SWTOR made, and then you claim that your primary unique, non-WoW feature is that the game will involve 3-faction combat... the only problem with this is the Hero-Engine can't handle many players onscreen at once, this major problem was seen in SWTOR and the resulting laggy ability delay issue led many players to leave that game, and you are moving forward replicating the exact same mistake.
This whole production reeks of just another money-grab. Just like SWTOR, it sounds like you are simply copying WoW and throwing a new skin and brand-name on it (in this case TES). And just like SWTOR, it will fail hard. And for being so out of touch with the gaming market, for throwing out the precise qualities that would have made yours a unique MMO to rival WoW and perhaps even lead the market, you will have earned it. Stupid stupid stupid.
