Important Conjuration News!

Reanimated bodies don't turn to dust when you use dead thrall for permanent zombies. You can keep recasting it on the body you want. svcks if you run into a necromancer and they get to it before you, though. Still, this is awesome news for those who like necromancy!

Doesn't think also mean that you can have a dead thrall permanently use an amazing weapon of yours? I have read that you can "give" a weapon to a dead body, and then when you use dead thrall on the body, it starts using that weapon. Of course, if the body turned to dust when it died, you wouldn't want to waste an expensive weapon on and lose the weapon when it died, but in this case, the weapon should stay with the thrall. So you can keep conjuring an indefinite summon with an optimal weapon.

If I had that my poor Lydia would still be with me today. I keep her ashes in an urn above the fireplace. She made such a great zombie.

This should be true, although the you can recover any weapons from dust piles when using a temporary spell. Let me test what you've read and I'll get back to you.

Yup, gave bandit plunderer an iron mace, took his weapon, re-summoned him and in combat he equipped it.

It is interesting to note that you cannot use dead thrall on the most powerful corpses. Dread zombie will work on frost trolls and draugr scourges, but dead thrall will not. Probably to keep from having a permanent frost troll.

You cant give thralls equipment. At Least not directly (I figure above poster killed them, put it in their lot, then re-summoned). Ive found lots of bugs and problems with necromancy. Namely some weird bug where the raised zombie still attacks me and hit detection on the spells themselves being terrible. You have to aim below the body for the spell to hit them, or it will over shoot. This isn't a problem when you have your time to raise them, but in the middle of combat it gets hectic. And the fact that half of the raised corpses lose their weapon and never pick it up.

Yeah, its only when you put the item in their inventory and re summon them. But you lose half those issues with dead thrall, which is why it's awesome. I do agree hit detection is a bummer, but I wouldn't use dead thrall in the middle of a fight because you have to charge it. I haven't had any of my pets attack me, only when I hit my Dremora Lord a couple of times and he impaled me :banghead: .

Ive found hit detection on all necromancy spells a bit wonky. The Ritual is usually what saves me after trying to hit the same body three times with a spell that keeps missing. I just hate it when you kill something with a destruction spell just to watch their weapon fly across the damn sky.
