Cant get past Intro

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:24 am

So you look forward to getting a game for ages and ages and guess what..... It doesnt work.

Start the game after installing through Steam and I see the Bethesda logo then a logo which is the one for Skyrin then.... crash to desktop.

Unable to get past this point, anyone with similar issues?

Faith in PC games is really being tested after Battlefield 3 and now this being unable to even load. Do they even test? Looking at this forum... I guess not

I have the exact same problem. No error message or anything, it just crashes after I see the logo for a couple seconds.....SOOOO frustrating.

This worked for me...what the sound has to do with launching a game, I have no idea, but it worked. HAZAA!

"Hey guys, I was having this problem too and just stumbled on a solution that worked for me at least.

My sound device in windows was set to output at 192khz 24bit. When I set this back to 44.1khz 16bit it fixed the problem!

So to check, in win7 go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound

Pick your sound device that is set as default, click Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab and make sure the 'Default Format' it is set to 44.1khz 16bit.

I actually was able to set mine to 96khz 24bit and it works aswell, just doesn't seem to like 192khz.

Good luck!"

By this point I figure it has to be a driver issue. Because ive tried everything i can think of for my desktop, with no success. But if i load it up on my laptop (both have Nvidia cards) it plays just fine, no issues whatsoever.

Try this fix, might be a similar thing to fallout 3.
