Look at the images on that page. It seems like one of the posters found that setting the graphical settings from the launcher didn't work the first time, and had to change it elsewhere.

The game looks absolutely fantastic.

Seems a lot of games have an "Ultra" setting that really doesnt quite set everything on high. Im used to setting ultra, then manually changing the settings to my liking.

As long as it works after you manually change them its not that big a deal imo, but good to know. Hopefully the next patch will fix a lot of things too (there better be one!)

Didn't change anything for me. It's easy to take flattering screens of this game, but that doesn't mean the textures are good. Here are two screens from my game with all of the bells and whistles afforded by the ini and enabled as well as everything maxed out in the launcher: [http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/7418/skyrim2.jpg] [http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9093/skyrimj.jpg]

And yet, my game still also has textures like this (not my screen): [http://i.imgur.com/XWAjs.jpg]. Even on textures that look a little better, they're generally very grainy/pixelated, especially when compared to other Bethesda games.

I'm not saying Skyrim doesn't look nice. It does, and it has its shaders and models to thank for that. It's textures are terrible and could really use replacing is all.

THose are nice, I wasn't aware of the ini tweaks. Anyone have some presets already that I can use on my system?
