Sad, might as well buy XboxPS3 version

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:37 pm

My game Hard crashes in the first 2 mins of play.
I'm starting to hate big game developers that release games that wont even run on a large portion of the systems out there.
First Rage, now this. Unforgivable.

Step 1. Have customer pre-order game for PC.
Step 2.) When the PC version doesn't work, some people will go out and buy the Xbox/PS3 version and not be able to return the PC version.
Step 3.) Profit.... Awesome.

Intel Quad CPU, Vista 64-bit, Radeon HD 6900.

So you have crashes and you just assume it does the same for a "large portion" of people?

I can't even get the game installed because of steam. Luckily I paid with a credit card, so if gamestop won't refund my money for this $60 coaster I'll just be doing a charge back through my credit card company and get my money back that way.

@StingingVelvet
Yes actually, I do.
Even if I'm wrong, I believe I have a right to be angry with Bethesda.
It took a week for me to be able to play Rage, and now.......who knows for Skyrim?
When you build up anticipation for a game to generate sales, put major emphasis on the release date, and then have people unable to play the game when its released, you deserve the wrath of people that are disappointed.
I am a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games and have been anticipating Skyrim's release for some time. I feel like I've been punched in the gut. Hell, I'm awake at 2AM posting on this foroum!
So please forgive me if I tend to exaggerate, and try not to be such a jerk.

I tried the audio fix for win 7 users. Doesn't work. Game crashes after loading my save game which is just after getting out of the cave.

I restored the default audio values. Prior to changing the audio settings, the game only crashed once. I didn't think it would cause the game to crash continuously. Anyway, the audio settings are back to the default setting and the game won't load!

And the game crashed before I even messed with those settings! But now nothing!

I have little doubt the ps3 and xbox version crash less often. I have had it with pc gaming. There will be a patch, eventually.

Forums always are the home of complaints. Even if thousands of people came here complaining of crashes a million would probably be playing it just fine. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but exaggerations can send a bad message to those thinking of getting the game.

Crashes at logo screen before game even starts. Yes, I think it is a good enough portion to show that he is right, they need to fix their [censored] before releasing such a big game. I have good system that works with, even RAGE, when it came out, and have more than recommended specs. The game should work, however, it doesn't. I have never had a game crash before like this. They usually at least make it past load screen. Sad....

I am sure that wiseguys telling people to quit complaining would also be quick to complain if the game wasn't working on their computer also, quit being jerks, and let people blow off some steam. I feel the same way, bathesda used to be respectable, but after this and RAGE, seriously, the game should at least be playable. come on now, and not just on 3/4 of systems out there, if ya meet the specs, ya should be able to play, and seriously, there are only two video card GPU companies to write code for. seriously, make sure stuff work before release.

This will get you banned from Steam, FYI

Why would steam care about a retailer?

Exactly! IT should work right after install just like the ps3 and xbox versions.

We don't know how many people are having problems and maybe I am just the unlucky one. In which case time will tell. In the meantime, here is hopin' for a patch as my game won't even load past the cave section.

They care about a charge-back. I'm pretty sure it's in their FAQ of "do nots"
