Worried and confused...

Hello everyone, I am new to the forums but I made an account due to some recent news that there are some serious problems with the PS3 version of Skyrim. I have seen many troubling threads on here and elsewhere on the internet but so far I have had nothing but good times with Skyrim. I haven't had any freezes, no camera glitches, no lost save games, and no framerate issues (I'm sure I will now because I'm saying something nice about the game) so what gives? I run my PS3 on a 37" 720p HDTV using the fibre optic cable for my audio and I have logged roughly 20 hours in the game so far. Is there anything I should do to prevent any future issues? Luckily with my playstation plus account it backs up all my game saves to the cloud so if I were to lose them I should have those saves stashed away but still the idea of losing 20+ hours of work is a bit troublesome (although I just realized that I probably should have started off as a mage so starting over again might not be that bad).

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Some people are experiencing problems and others are not. Why? we don't know yet.

Careful. Hang around here long enough, and they'll have you believing that you need a chicken to [censored] in your PS3 on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon, otherwise "U gUnNA gitS da LaGGZZ!!!11!!!1!"

All kidding aside though, good to hear more people aren't having issues. Thanks for posting your set-up. All the information we can get as to why/why not things are/aren't working the better.

I have a PS3 slim with an upgraded 500gb hard drive if that makes any difference. Wonder if the phat ps3's are the ones having issues...

Enjoy your game if you can. There is nothing you can or can't do to prevent or not prevent something technical happening to your gameplay experience. The main consensus at the moment is that there are three main possibilities:

1. Defective disks
2. Memory Leak
3. Save File Size Issues

Regardless of which it is nothing you do will affect it.

I see. Well I guess I'll just play and hope for the best. Gotta admit I was a bit worried about stuff like this after my horrible time with Fallout New Vegas (which wasn't done by Bethesda) and reading that all of the review copies out there were for the 360.
