Any Formal Announcement from Bethedsa Regarding Glitches?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 5:22 am

Does anyone know if Bethesda has made any formal announcements regarding glitches making their game virtually unplayable for the purchasers of their product?

Does anyone know how widespread these issues (specifically for the PS3) are?

Is there any way we can make our voices heard regarding the purchase of a malfunctioned and broken game?

I'd love to play this game very much, but my issue concerning the guard outside of Whiterun being MIA, and glitches of the character getting stuck in an invisible barrier are making that impossible. I played Fallout 3 on the PS3, unlocking nearly everything until the game lagged over time, to the point where it too became unplayable. Bethesda, you make awesome games for the PS3, but I purchased Skyrim under the impression that I would actually be able to, you know, play the game, and that the glitches/problems would have been solved well in advance of release.

At this point I am going to exercise patience, having been waiting several days for a reply as of this writing. Technical support would be greatly appreciated, a lack of which will result in myself and other patrons of your games becoming further jaded.

Sincerely,
SkyrimJoe

Basically you can post here and hope someone responds. However, I don't think I have seen any responses from Bethesda so far in any of these topics.

I used the form to contact them on the Bethesda website but the 'Send' button doesn't seem to work....hmmmmmm...

I've sent a message to Bethesda on their site, hit "Send" and the button just grays out and doesn't actually send the message. Tried that three times, then realized I've actually had that same issue on that site years ago. I don't think they ever fixed it. Then I tried sending a PM to one of the moderators to at least LOOK at some of these posts and give a response, but he never replied back. So we pretty much just have to hope that they're reading it and taking notes, just not replying.

Its getting kind of rediculous now. You think that they would learn their lessons after all the games they've put out; but nope. You'd think I would have leanred my lesson not to buy their games... Following the dissapointment that Fall Out New Vegas gave me, and then the Dead Island waiste of 12 hours of my life, (ps, I know its not Bethesda, but still), this has been quite a dissapointing year.

You're talking about a company which never ever not once showed PS3 video of Skyrim and denoted it as such.

Just saying.

Looking for an official announcement? Good luck. Peter Hines is the VP of marketing and PR for Bethesda. Here was my convo with him a few moments ago

BTW Peter if you swing by the forums you svck at your job. You have time to tweet about what you think about the NBA and WNBA but not take five seconds to address the concerns of your paying customers? I don't know where you graduated from but they must have been a diploma mill. Try fixing your game rather than counting your money. 25 percent of total Skyrim sales are on the PS3. That's roughly 750,000 copies. There is no excuse to ignore that large of a demographic. It's common courtesy. This economy is not stellar and we choose to buy your product. Show some [censored] appreciation.

I play on a PS3 and have no problems at all. As is the case with the vast majority.

I receive a message from Gstaff today:

*** We're currently looking at all the issues being reported in the forums and we move ahead on work for future updates. We'll let folks know what those updates cover when they're released.

Thanks for the note ***

I will give them 2-3 week and if the bug is not fix I will return my game for a full refund. (Not open it yet and have 30 day to return it)

I think a class action lawsuit might do the trick if they don't or are unable to fix the problem. There is circumstantial evidence they knew the game was broken and released it anyway. Take them bragging about how the game is running 24/7 to catch problems and the fact they have a history of this. There may be grounds for one. We as consumers would likely never see our $60 again, but if I could get it out of the hands of Beth I would be happy.

I am advising people not to purchase the PS3 version until the issues are resolved. I know that amounts to a drop in the ocean, but it's something.

How about a little whine with that entitlement?

Entitlement? Because I expect to not have a game breaking glitch with my $60 purchase?

Pete Hines has stated through his Twitter that an update for Skyrim is coming soon: (from Examiner via LizTaylorsGhost :) )

"We are continuing to work on an update for all platforms to address any bugs and perf issues we can, patches/updates take a little time. We can't turn it around quite that fast. It's been three days. Calm down. We're working on it."
