The mysteries of the Font confuse me. When I replace Skyrim's font the new font appears to be scaled at random. In some tooltips it will use a large size, in others a small size. So that's confusing. Also, the last line of Unrelenting Shout is cut off no matter what font i use except Planewalker or the default. The confusing question is next. If I open Futura Condensed, the font used by Skyrim and generate a new font without changing anything, the same line gets cut off. Obviously using the default font, the line isnt cut off. What sneaky property is somehow being removed when I regenerate the font? I just open it, rename it, save it, and go. I'd like to figure out how Skyrim dynamically scales font, so I can replace the font better. Right now I have to just scale the entire font down before I embed it to keep text from getting cut off, but that makes it nigh unreadable in one or two other places. How Skyrim scales it is related to some other property though, not glyph size. Planewalker is sized to every element perfectly, and its significantly larger than other fonts I've tried. Anybody know what that property might be? I've looked through all the menus and options I can find in Fontlab.
Attached shows what I'm talking aboot.
