dude your going to have issues unless you run at a very low resolution with no AF or AA. That computer doesn't even match the minimum requirements - keep in mind they were referring to desktop hardware not laptop hardware - a 8800 mobile is like 2x slower than its discreet counter-part.

Also uninstall old driver and update to the current Rage performance driver found in the forum on google or go to atis site as its advertised. In the driver, force enable vsync (called vertical refresh in ati catylist) as well as tripple buffering. Check this forum for lists of custom cvars u can do trial and error with until u find a combination that works for u. U can add these cvars to your default.cfg file found in your Steam\Steam apps\common\rage\base folder. Also try adding the following folder path - C:\Users\(your username)\App Data(hidden folder - may have to enable viewing of hidden folders under view options)\local - within this "local" folder, add the following - new folder entitled "id software" and then within the id software folder add "rage". Final target path should look like this - C:\Users\username\App Data\local\id software\rage. Then add the following commands to your launch options by right clicking rage>properties>set launch options - "+fc_maxcachememoryMB 1024 +com_skipIntroVideo 1" - copy and paste EVERYTHING between those quotes (obv dont include the quotes). that will force some caching of textures to ur harddrive as well as skip intro videos and take u right to main menu.

I wasn’t expecting the game to run perfectly on this notebook because i understand that i wasted 3,500 bucks on a notebook and I’ll never do that again in my life. It’s already 5 years old. What i don’t understand is why it doesn’t even start. And i have a hard time updating video drivers, if i don’t use the old ones the video card crash on ANY game, no idea why. i will order a new computer whit my next paycheck but i wanted to feel the game a bit, I’ll try all your advice and let you know if any work, thx for taking the time to answer me... hopefully i would be able to at least access the game.

Out of topic, I already decided to get 16gb ram from crosshair cuz the price it’s just TOO GOOD. 100 bucks and the i7 Quad Core 3.4 GHz from Intel. What I don’t know is which video card to get, because from my life experience getting the best it’s just a waste of money. In about 6 months the price it’s going to drop to half. So which video card would you guys recommend?

Get GTX 570 or better but i would stay with GTX 570 so in case you wanna play future games you can always change.
GTX 580 or 590 are expensive.

After watching some benchmarks i think the best buy for the money might be DUAL SLI GTX 560 TI

What do you think?

Indeed SLI GTX 560 TI is better than single GTX 570
I hope future games like Doom 4/ RAGE 2 would support SLI.
Also make sure you get a subwoofer with your system cause the sound/music are awesome in this game and If you can get 27 inch monitor then you will have Audio/videogasm hehe.
Finally I managed to fix my problem (one annoying horizontal grid line) thanks to the people here who helped.
