No player vampires or werewolves confirmed! End of story!

No player vampires or werewolves! So this forum is now spared from the future uproar on speculation of vampires and werewolves. I won't buy the game until an expansion is out. But I am sure it will do well.

You need vampires and/or werewolves to even consider buying a game, or are there other factors in there too?

For now. WoW added pandas when the well was dry, you never know what they'll do to keep subscriptions. I would venture to guess if this MMO is actually successful that one or both would be the first expansion added to the game.

Nicely done, sir (or madam).

But yeah, the OP has a history of only posting about two topics.

I would buy a single player expansion. :)

Unlikely as they will want to keep things simple in order to make it easier to balance the classes.

Duh! They know vamps and werewolfs are popular so they are going make you buy an expansion for them.

It's kind of obvious that they wouldn't be in it since having a sudden influx of 2000 vamps or lycans into the game would break the lore further.

Yeah if they did Skyrim for their MMO the 5 million Dovas would break lore as well. :)

That would just be a lazy design choice. To counter the W&Ws there could be a guild with professional W&W hunters. Being a W&W could be kept secret from other players, and only benefit you at certain times etc. That would create an interesting situation on each server where there's a secret war going on between the disease/curse and silver knights.

Based on what? WoW added Deathknights, a highly overpowered class, and they are the most successful MMO on the market.

They will have to balance the class out to have weaknesses- more than likely, mages will receive a sunlight spell to injure vamps, and silver weapons will do high damage on werewolves. There are ways to balance the classes MMO style.

The only way they could add vampire is as an entirely different race and faction, same for werewolves.

Otherwise, how do you balance these extra powers? It would be balanced around the fact that any player is supposed to be a vampire. Then you have way too many vampires and you might as well play vampire the masquerade online (which is world of darkness and not TES).

Or playable Liches or anything monstrous. I just can't play as something "normal" or unnaflicted.

This.

The game is now off my radar, I had tried to deny that this game would svck but ALL signs are pointing to this game flopping big time. This isn't Elder Scrolls, this is just awful.

Were"Beasts" and Vampires are important parts of the ES world. They are kinda mini races if you will. Considering that the main antagonist will be Molag bal, the progenitor of Vampire kind, I'm surprised that they are not featured. It is true however that he has never been as interested or invested in his progeny as say, Hircine is with his 'children'. Also, does anyone have any solid info or sources about the crusade that was waged on the Werebeast? In the timeline of Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, Werebeasts are rare and considered by most to be myths and stories but we find out, somewhere, I believe Morrowind, that it was not alwasy so and that they were once very prominant threats, until this crusade greatly depleted their numbers. TES:O takes place sometime in the Second Era. It is perhaps a longshot but the crusade may not have happened yet, is in progress or is recently complete.

Vampires and Werewolves are in the game, and are part of storylines, you just cant become one.

This is actually something I can understand being that one of my main hickups with Oblivion was the exclusion of were wolves. After playing as one in Bloodmoon I felt it was silly to suddenly remove it. I hope you get them in an expansion op

There's supposed to be the WoD MMO coming out around the same time from the makers of Eve. Thread in CD somewheres with all the info so far. I'm inclined to agree with you about the not being able to play as a normal adventurer in TES. Could have easily been balanced out if given more than a seconds worth of thought. I'll have to pass until something changes.

Great, so now we don't have to read the constant moaning posts/threads about it.The sooner we get the official forums the better it will be,those who are not buying the game have no reason to post in those forums.Us who are prepared to give the game a chance can enjoy the build up in piece.
