Very High Resolution request

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:10 pm

Probably not a great time to be asking with so many issues going on but hey, why not ?

So I am running in 6056x1080 across 3 screens, game works fine for me, a bit of texture loading which no doubt will be fixed shortly.

My only issue is when in such a high res I have the quest notes opening on the far right screen and the inventory on the far left.
In comparison to the other "Real" issues this is minor, but it would be nice if those items could open up in the middle screen so one doesn't have to drag the mouse all the way across the screens to click accept, it also will save my neck from being so sore.

Cool, can you get a screenshot of what it looks like?

I svcks the majority of PC games don't support Eyefinity or Surround Vision correctly. Guess that's why only the NVIDIA and ATI sponsored games support it correctly as they will make sure it is fixed!

Perhaps someone will make a mod to fix this?

Yeah I was trying to play it at 5980x1080 and had weird lag in the mouse and all kinds of interesting issues. I went to 1920x1080 on a single monitor and things were more fluid. Sad this is a DX10 game running terrible FPS on high end rigs - my three GTX 580 3GB version cards should be laughing its way through this game.

You may want to give the CFG file option a shot, I did find it helped with resolutions considerably. I set mine for the 3GB card option but still run 60 FPS in 1920x1080. I just need to find how I can turn VSync off...........controls and options are minimal, most minimal I have seen in a long time on a "PC" shooter game - so so sad.

Many companies are still not aligning the HUD options for middle screens and will drop them on left/right screens. Crysis 2 strangely enough does well in Online mode and places the HUD in the middle screen like it should be but campaign still on far left and right screens. BFBC2 scales well in campaign - so its a crap shoot on what developer company builds their stuff to handle set ups with multi monitors for gaming. Hopefully these guys will get it right and do like Crytek did - 4 months later after the initial release give us the controls, patches and fixes that finally make this a worthy release. I have no doubt this company has the skills to make it right and make it great - they just fell short on the PC side of things on this release IMO.

It runs smooth here at 5040x1050, at 60FPS, no lag or stuttering at all, 3 x GTX 480. Im using Nivida Inspector to force RAGE running on only one GPU.
Dont forget to add cvaradd hands_fovscale 1 or your gun will look stretched. You can check the game's Detailed Report at WSGF - widescreen gaming forum here - http://widescreengamingforum.com/dr/rage/en .
