While i am thankful for a a patch and the ability to change settings graphics wise I can't help but wonder what they changed and didn't mention in the notes. Also I'm sorry that the patch didn't fix your issues there buddy. Just curious, what error are you referring to?

Its a Vostro 3550, I do play Dead Island and Far Cry 2 here really nice, but Rage, never started here...

I'm by no means an expert but I bet you the integrated video card or your chipset has something to do with it. Intel based chipsets and video cards are a bit fidgety sometimes. See what System Requirements Lab says about running rage. Link below.

It say i can run it like my desktop;
Difference: my desktop runs it
notebook can't
My desktop cant run Dead Island like my notebook do but this game Rage can't even start :)

What i see is...poor code, stupid test team, well, dead island have alot of bugs, but its there and running, even starting...on my notebook and desktop...

Well if system requirements lab says you can play then you should be able to at least on low settings at the very least. Are you using steam?

I put this is the Properties> Set Launch Options window without quotes.

It seems to have helped a bunch of people. Give it a go, couldn't hurt.

In Steam news they posted reg the update. When I tested in game I still have issues :/ Locking up :/ Im now looking in my ccc as my game box should be able to play this w/ out any issues. So if anyone has any idea how I can fix this please fill me in lol

My box is:
i7 CPU 975
6 gigs ddr 3 ram 1600MHz
Radion HD 6990 vid card
Screen res is 5896 X 1080 <----- samsung MD230x3 monitor
win 7 ultimate 64bit
Sabertooth x58 m/b
I put the ccc to defaults
No additional tweaks in Steam launch options or rageconfig.cfg file

For now I am reading more and testing :/

After the patch, and with the resolution on 800x600 i was able to leave Mutant Bash TV, when i was not able to before no matter what settings i tried..
Needless to say i did not return for another go at it.

I really hope this patch helped someone else out...

Ok I took this from the admin post on the update on this site for the sat /today patch :} This has fully helped me :}

You may also be able to improve the memory situation on your computer by changing the Windows paging file management. Note that making changes to the Windows paging file management may change the performance characteristics of your computer. Any changes you make to your system configuration are at your own risk. Always make backups of your system and revert these changes if you notice undesirable side effects.

To change the paging file management on Windows Vista and Windows 7, first press the "Start" button, then right-click on "Computer" and then select "Properties" from the popup menu. Then select "Advanced system settings" on the window that appears. Select the "Advanced" tab on the "System Properties" window that is displayed and press the "Settings" button under "Performance". Select the "Advanced" tab on the "Performance Options" window that shows up next and press the
"Change..." button under "Virtual memory". Now uncheck the option "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" and make sure that the option "System managed size" is selected on the "Virtual Memory" window. Confirm the change by pressing the "OK" button on each window. After making this change you will have to restart your computer for the change to take effect.
