Maxing perks

With the new system that Todd describes by saying that you get better at what you do, is it possible to get all of the perks in more than 6 skills? I've seen a lot of people "choosing" 6 and since the major/minor skill system ditched, can we invest our time/perk points in maybe 7 or 8? that way our perks dont get spread out too much because i know that they stop coming at level 50.

There are a ton of threads here that answer these questions already. Search function is in upper right corner.

You can invest your perks in as many skills as you want, but you wont be maxing out any more than 4 or 5 skills unless you raise every skill to 100, in which case you might manage to max out around 6-7.

They don't stop coming at level 50 they stop coming at level 70. It's just much more difficult to level after 50. And you don't have to concentrarte exclusively in 7 skills and ignore the rest, think that you can be very good in a skill without all its perks, and you can still put those points in skills that aren't essential but can help you a lot. When people write 6-7 skills for their character they are marking the most important skills but they are not the only ones they will use. Maybe they will choose also some initial perks for restoration, lockpicking, conversation or others... this allows their characters to be very good in their main skills without sacrificing completely other skills that can be very useful sometimes and without having a charater that is a "jack of all trades" but is not incredibly good in a specific skill.
