Fixed PS3 lag (unusual)

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:55 pm

So yeah I have an 11mb savefile and it was lagging and stuttering like mad. I've just opened my window as its freezing outside and too warm inside and now my room has dropped in temperature, my lag has been eliminated lol...coincidence?

I touched the console after it started lagging insanely, and it wasn't even KIND of hot. Maybe there was a gas leak outside and you simply hallucinaded smooth framerates?

well if you turned off your PS3 and the temperature dropped, then that would be 2 things that help but they don't fix it permanently, as you'll see.

Did you turn your system off? Because that eliminates lag for couple hours

The lag issue has NOTHING to do with the PS3. The issue does not persist when indoors, but when outdoors everything falls apart.

Is this a bad joke?

First it was a hard drive space, then it was PS3 models, now it's how many windows you have opened?

Stop beating yourselves over the head trying to find a solution to this problem. It's not you, it's the game.

This just in!
I farted on my PS3 after turning it off and rubbing butter all over it and the problems are gone!

I added this in another post. Im not sure if its dead or not now. So I thought I would repost and help anyone who may be reading out.

Try these things if you have not already. The all capital letter words in parentheses is the setting. Follow step by step. Settings can be found in the XMB menu second from the left. This is the main menu before you start playing your game. I appologize if I have made this more complicated then it needs to be. Anything that has (HDMI) by the setting should be adjusted accordingly. Meaning if you are not using an HDMI cable to connect your playstation to your tv choose (OFF) or the most simple option. If you are connected using an HDMI Cable follow these select what I have. I am running this game very smoothly right now. Good luck and I hope I made even a slight difference in someones gameplay.

-Settings-Game Settings-PS Upscaler (OFF) PS Smoothing (OFF)
-Settings-Video Settings-BD/DVD Upscaler (OFF) BD/DVD Video Output Format (Y Pb/Cb /Pr/Cr) 1080p 24 Hz Output (OFF) BD/DVD Dynamic Range Control (OFF)
-Settings-System Settings-Display [What's New] (OFF) Notification Messages (DO NOT DISPLAY)
-Settings-Display Settings-Cross Color Reduction Filter (OFF) RGB Full Range (Limited) Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (OFF) Deep Color Output (OFF)

Also if your connected to psn go to -Settings-Network Settings-Internet Connection (DISABLED)

I hope this helps you all

This helps to a point.

But after 20 or so more hours of game play it gets unbearable again.

You're not helping anybody by making ignorant dramatized statements like that.

Go play the damn game since it works so well for you and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

I wonder the same thing to be honest. It does in fact help. Im guessing by limiting the resources those settings are using it increase fps. Who knows though. All I know I did this and im running the game perfect now. 720p 16:9 hdmi slim ps3

The PS3 allocates the same amount of resources to the XMB no matter what the settings.

No reason to dispute what I say. I am not trying to be mr right. Im only trying to help those who may need it. If those settings by some chance improve someones playing experience even a little I am happy
