Now, looking past that, according to the articles I read about your game. You have stated this:
"The goal of The Elder Scrolls Online is to “be comfortable for people who are coming in from a typical massively multiplayer game that has the same control mechanisms,” but also appeal to Skyrim players."
My personal opinion of this sounding really horrible asside, I'll continue.
Players will join one of three factions: the Ebonheart Pact (Nords, Dunmer, and Argoninans), the Aldmeri Dominion (Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit), or the Daggerfall Covenant (Bretons, Redguard, and Orcs). These three factions will struggle for control over Tamriel, and when your faction manages takes the capital, the highest-rated PvP in it becomes the emperor. There will also be public dungeons, so instead of going into an instance and being alone with the rest of your party, you’ll have to compete with everyone who is currently in that dungeon for the best loot.
Some of those gameplay elements sound pretty cool, but for the most part, it seems that The Elder Scrolls Online will be very similar to games like Rift, World of Warcraft , and Star Wars: The Old Republic . Keep in mind that these details won’t be confirmed until the June issue of Game Informer is available to the public at large, but for now, it sounds like a lot of longtime fans are going to disappointed with the direction ZeniMax is taking The Elder Scrolls Online. In any case, today is the day that the teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online debuts, so go ahead and give it watch. Be sure to keep checking back here at TFTS for more information about The Elder Scrolls Online!
So, from what I have been reading, you're only selling points for actual gameplay in this game are taking over player cities and appointing someone an emporer. In name only, I'm sure.
I mean, is this going to be fun? Are you going to do anything else with it?
Now I read, dungeons are shared? So will there be open PVP? Looting to some extent? You say this is an Elderscrolls game, but can you even kill NPCs, no matter who they are, and loot them? Are there different hidden factions? Because your factions are confusing to me, is this game like playing out a chapter of the story? Maybe it can be interesting, seeing a Sload invasion..
Classes? How many classes? Standard healers and such? What about the night creatures diseases? How are you going to factor any of this in? A typical mmo? Why would you want that? Just for the cash? Why not make something "FUN"? Why not make an Online version of Morrowind, toss people into the game world, load a message of "Good Luck" and just let it all unfold. Heck, film the players secretly if you must, release the vids of the world on the site as the story, have events happen wether players are there or not.
If you must make it MMO like, when you die you'd lose everything and spawn at the nearest temple, or temple of your chosen faith. And you can even have an option for people to make hardcoe characters who just leave a tombstone in a graveyard for their next character that gives them like one item from their corpse or a stat bonus. And the benefit is hardcoe characters advance their stats like 30% faster or something.
ANYTHING!
But I digress, Here is the main issue, my personal issues aside, HOW are you going to execute large style PVP warfare, which from these statements seem to rival that of planetside, ON THE HERO ENGINE?
The HERO engine can't HANDLE any of that! It CANT. It's rigid, physics are garbage, and it has some of the worse bugs ever when it comes to navigating terrain. And besides all of that, the graphics quality of this engine is garbage. Just utter garbage.
You know, before World of Warcraft was a large success. People who developed these games didn't know what they were doing, and because of this, a unique game would be created. Now adays, they got the "formula". Now everything is trash.
Now you can only find these qualities in over seas titles.
