Apply Poison to a Conjured weapons?

[Edit] Not sure why I posted this in the spoilers section, thought I was in the general. oops

Am planning on playing an Assassin type character. And am tempted on possibly using only conjured up weapons(based primarily on http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/scr.phtml?cat=f&platform=pc&link=theelderscrollsvskyrim&pic=theelderscrollsvskyrim32 screenshot), as it is such a cool looking effect, assuming this is still accurately depicting conjured weapons. Plus it could be fun for role-playing purposes,

"You ask if I killed this man? but with what weapon? Feel free to search me"

But I would still like to dabble with poisons as well. I don't remember if you could apply poisons to conjured up weapons in Oblivion or not, and am wondering if anyone knows how this will be handled in Skyrim.

Also wondering how the perks and skills stack. I assume you still level 1-handed weapon skill when you are using a conjured up short sword, and only gaining in conjuration skill for the initial spell to get the weapon. So I'm wondering if all the perks from the different skills would stack up.

For example:
Lets say your using a conjured short sword and the following perks:
  • 1H - "Armsman" rank 1 for +20% Dmg
  • Conjuration - "Mystic Binding" for conjured weapons do more Dmg
Then you add poison to that weapon(assuming you can poison conjured weapons)
Would all these effects stack up?

Trying to decide if it's a good idea to try this route. Downside would be that you couldn't improve your weapons by smithing(however I'm finding it hard to free up perks to add to this perk tree anyway)but I'm wondering if the Mystic Binding would equal the smithing bonus to weapons, nor could you enchant a conjured weapon(in Oblivion I seem to recall items being conjured up at higher levels had there own random enchantments on them? could be wrong here though as I never really played much with the conjuration skill before)

Still wondering how Daggers fit in as well, and which perks in the 1H skill would apply to them. Would like to just use daggers, but have a feeling based on other peoples posts that you will be severely gimped after the initial x15 sneak attack. Perhaps dual wielding a dagger in left and a short sword in right would be a good combination, assuming you can do the sneak attack with the left handed weapon also. Or just using a dagger for initial strike then switch to dual wield short swords. Then your carrying a lot of weapons with you always, add in a bow and thats 4 weapons on you at all times. Another 'perk' to the conjuration route would be no dead weighted weapons encumbering you.

Good question, I'm assuming this would be possible by equipping the spell in each hand and casting each separately.

Would be good to have confirmation on this through.

They should all stack up. If it's like Oblivion, then you should be able to also apply poison to a bound weapon, but if your weapon disappears before you used the poison, then the poison is gone too.

Don't care about putting poison on a bound weapon (though it sounds silly to me) but I can confirm that you can dual-wield bound weapons by casting one in each hand.

I'd like to poison the bound arrows that appear to come with the bound bow...I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was pondering about that path too. Sort of Nightblade relying on Conjuration to get its weapons and alchemy to poison them.

Mystic binding might alleviate the fact we can't improve them with smithing. Of course you better invest in Quiet Casting perk from Illusion path which require 4 perks points investment to be able to bound your weapon without blowing up your stealth.
It's an interesting path.

We'll see in game....Damn the wait is long....

Yeah, I agree the 'quiet casting' perk would be necessary for this type of build. I'm assuming that with the quiet casting perk means that your castings have no effect on people detecting you. As spells also give off light, as the description says that it makes them silent to others could indicate that they only don't hear the spell, but could see it if you were to cast in a dark cave for example.

I'd assume it would be that your spells are undetectable, as the latter would seem to make the perk fairly useless
