Dragons seem WAY too weak to me.

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:45 pm

I am level 31, and am now fighting frost dragons. I have a skyforge steel battle axe, 2H is about 70 or so, and orcish armor with HA at about 70, and I DEMOLISH dragons. My fights with the Thalmor are harder. Giants are harder. Dragon Priests are harder, etc.

Anyone else have this problem? This isn't really a huge complaint, I still love this game, I am just a little disappointed with the dragons.

I am level 19 and Dragons are harder to kill for me than they were before, giants are still harder, but not by much.

I'm playing on Adept, and the dragons are still posing a challenge. I'm level 33. Sounds like you are somewhat powerful, gear wise, so yeah...is it them being easy or you being strong enough to take them out with ease?

I find them about right. very difficult if I am on my own. but there again I am a thief, so lockpicking a dragon isn't an option.

It depends on what you use. Dragons are easy-mode and just a nuisance for my Archer Alchemist. I can't imagine that dragons are easy for warriors though. It would be cool if the dragons were more aggressive.

a common complaint as far as i can tell; dragons arent just easy, theyre easy compared to every other enemy. because theyre flying most of the time, i guess bethesda felt it unfair to make to make their fire/ frost breath too damaging, and thus dragons barely scratch you.

really, this couldve easily been solved by giving dragons other shouts; let them whirlwind rush away once ive grounded them, let them use mark of death to soften me up; make them tactically superior to other enemies if you dont just want to make them deal huge damage like everything else. with different shouts, you would be forced to adapt to the situation instead of just waiting for them to land...

as it is, my warrior can just stand there being burned alive until the dragon decides to land, where i can easily kill it with a few sprinting power attacks.

I'm a Nord with steel boots of dwindling frost (30% cold resistance) so frost dragons are basically free souls for me :D

I'm around level 22, they're still a challenge...but i only just started using companions - worth their weight in gold i might say...gotta say though, they're one of my favourite things in the game. Still freak me out when they end up on the ground and start scrambling after you - i scream like a girl every time.

All depends on what perks/gear/stats/enchantments you have, and the levels that you run into certain dragons. My first frost dragon was a Blood Dragon that I ran into in the high teens/low 20's. One of the ones tied to a dragon wall.

It's frost breath utterly destroyed me. 6-8 levels later, more HP, doing more attack damage, better gear, and with the "resist elemental damage" Block Perk? It was a lot easier.

What difficulty are you playing on? Sounds like you need to turn it up a notch.

That is the thing; I am on expert difficulty, but if I go to master, other things are WAY too hard. Basically any mage can roast my slow ass before I can even get close.

I'm level 42 with fully enchanted ebony armor (upgraded to legendary level) with a legendary ebony greatsword and the only dragons i find easy are the frost dragons and this is only because im a nord and also due to enchantments i have 100% frost resistance, the other dragons (i'm fighting elder dragons now) are [censored] hard and quite challenging. I'm playing on adept to. Maybe its just you? I've heard people are all having different experiences with dragons. Oh and just in case it matters, my HA and 2H are both 100, and smithing 93 (thoguh i dont know why i cna upgrade my ebony to legendary when according to the guide you must have 100 to upgrade to legendary, i am also unable to upgrade steel past epic (the level below legendary) so glitch much?)
