Bethesda, I have lost faith in your games.

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:38 pm

Yes, this is another rant post. Just thought I tell you just do all you trolls and Bethesda [censored] don't have to.

I bought Skyrim on 10/11/11 (the Australian release day was broken) expecting a full, whole, amazing game. But what did I get? A full on bug fest! Glitches galore! I don't see how you guys managed to put this game on the shelves and call it a game. It's almost like a beta! Even Battlefield 3 beta was more complete than this game!?

Let me just point out that graphical glitches don't phase me, but all the quest glitches are insane! I know that all new released games have their fair share of faults, but come one Bethesda! I do love The Elder Scrolls series and I REALLY want to love this game, but when I can't complete a quest it loses all purpose.

I think people need to wake up and realize that this game is not finished and shouldn't even be on shelves for ATLEAST another 3 months.

I won't be playing this game again for a minimum of 5 months. Thanks again Bethesda for stealing my cash.

Whoa, I've been really lucky then.. Played for like 16 hours with my character now and haven't had any problems with the quests I've done.

I'm starting to think that some of the game copies are doomed for the start :(

Same, basically everything is fine for me. I think its a bit rash not playing it for 5 months :P it is bethesda you should prepare yourself for glitches. Though good point that they should have caught a lot of the glitches that people are spotting.

Everything was fine for me to, up until about an hour ago where now that I'm level 28 and a fair way into some of the quests and guilds, everything is [censored] up and glitching out. The jarl of whietrun and all his retainers have now started attacking me on site since i accepted this new companions quest, which means i cant enter whiterun palace, dragon skeletons keep appearing then disappearing, i'm sick and tired of falling through the ground, and why do whole rivers disappear yet i cna still swim through where they are supposed to be. I know TES games have bugs and I expected that of course, but this a [censored] joke.

Honestly, we go through this EVERY SINGLE TIME that Bethesda releases a game. This is nothing new. The games are vast and there is only so much testing you can do.

In general: If you don't want to deal with glitches wait six to twelve months before you buy any Bethesda game, it has been that way all the way back to the first Elder Scrolls, where I even participated in their original Beta over CompuServe (and paid a hefty sum to my local telco company for downloading the test levels).

Point being: All that whining and [censored]ing is getting tiresome as it is just more of the same.

I know that all the Bethesda games have loads of bugs but they should have atleast picked out and fixed some of these bugs in development.

But to be honest, I haven't played a game this buggy and full of glitches since the earliest alpha build of Counter-Strike.

We all know beth games have bugs, we expect that and you;re right it is because they make such huge and open games. But having these glitches in there is a disgrace,to have such major glitches that so widely experienced and are so easily found is pathetic. Sure i expected a few glitches, but not with quests, not with dragons or werewolves, not stuff as major and gamebreaking as these one. wtf.

Okay really people this is beginning to become really [censored] stupid and childish, I am not defending Beth but come on man it's only 2 days for christs sakes. Go ahead tell me and moan and complain some more about "LOLBETHSTOLEMYMONEH" things take time and don't magically happen over night. Yes I agree they should've tested it extensively but you forget that they can fix this [censored] and we can go on with our lives ok? Stop [censored]ing about they stole cash, I MEAN what did you expect on release? A perfect game? Quest lines broken and all that blahblah. Just wait for their patches and shut up.

I've yet to experience a quest glitch. No bugs found either. Also, my textures are loading.

I've been lucky but I have been thinking it could be to do with either certain hardware issues or a problem with consistency in the discs. The same thing happened with New Vegas, I never had any big glitches at all but some of my friends had some unbelievable issues with that game (one of them couldn't play it for more than 2 minutes without it crashing.) It's strange.

I've played Skyrim for around 18 hours now with no real issues. A couple of graphical glitches, but nothing serious.

I don't think I could wait any longer than I had to for this game. I'm really enjoying it so far, and TBH if it glitches out and screws up my game, I'm not too fussed if I have to go back and create a new character. The first playthrough is always the tester for Bethesda games for me.

How big is your game save file? This is affecting performance on PS3, as game save files seem to be very big. 6mb+ in no time at all.

yeah I have th pc version and the xbox version, and both are completely scewed in there own little horrible ways. I am waiting for as long as need be to play a game with decent textures and working quests - it will be worth it in the end, and more fun than struggling on with a broken product.

I think there needs to be some law or something passed that does not allow game companies to release games until they are actually completed.
Can't you get a refund on the game? If you are not happy with the product you bought and you have a good enough reason.

I noticed the first dragon skeleton that you zap, in the distance of a Whiterun tower - got up and started to fly away, then fell down again. I just about crapped myself. But then realized it was another bug.

Why not wait and release a less buggy game then? I just dont see the point in releasing a half broken game, just for the sake of releasing it

It just had to be out by 11/11/11. I LOVE this game and I DO believe it will get better over time, it just svcks starting the game when it's nowhere near finalized.

Because they have deadlines to meet set by the company, I've seen few games that are 100% bug free upon release.

Agreed.. I wish they'd test their games more before release it's not fair to the customers. I played up to level 14 and now I can't even complete the main story because of some major glitch I ran into. The game is halted for me now. I'm incredibly disappointed. I want my money back.

Same.

I am expecting to hit some bugs, but i am not worried~

If they extensively tested the game, they would need alot of people, and alot of time. Releasing it THEN getting bug reports back from the players is a MUCH FASTER WAY of dealing with these problems~ And of course, cheaper~ I would do the exact same thing in their shoes~
