Bethesda needs to start a dialogue about the lag issue

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:48 pm

I'm taking a 'wait and see' approach to this. However, as customers we deserve some kind of dialogue with the company about what's happening with the lag issue. The 360 and PC issues have gotten a Bethesda response, and this seems much more severe. So devs or moderators, how about some kind of indication this is being worked on? Not frothing at the mouth here, just want to know what's going on.

Well first you got to ask yourself. Do they even read this?

Yes, I believe they're well aware of what's being discussed here.

They should, since this is a Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues sub forum under a Bethesda forum.

They have had this problem in past games, and failed to put anything right.

You would have thought they would have worked to eliminate LAG while the game was in development, not try to "patch" things up after selling people a faulty product! But no, and perhaps, that more than anything, is evidence that Bethesda really doesn't care...

Yes, the Devs read these forums. In my experience, when they have something definite to say, they'll put a pinned topic up at the top of the sub-forum. They tend to not to reply in threads (because threads get buried, and it's not a very efficient way to tell lots of people about something, all at once.) But they do occasionally (we try to point out to them threads where a comment might do some good.)

But other than that, I don't have much to add. Moderators are just volunteers - we rarely have any more information than anyone else here.

Bethesda couldn't give a [censored] less about our lag issues.

If they did, they wouldn't have shipped this game in such a sorry state.

That's fair. I didn't really understand where the moderators sat on the org chart. In that case, I think we'd all like to hear about what's being done to fix this from a developer in the near future. Thanks for the reply.

Exactly!!

Either they didn't test it , at all (Because a run through of the game would reveal these widespread problems) , or they did, and decided it would be too much hassle for them to put things right and sold everyone a faulty product.

And testing aside, any high level programmer would have known there would be issues with the game, so why on earth were these problems not addressed in initial development?!

Well I think the best way to have an answer is to post your comments in this mail: support@gamesas.com

Seriously the game is one of the best games I have ever played : I mean I am not a hadrcore gamer or really devoted fan, just a normal player.

I agree. It's a fantastic game, and like many people I'm disappointed this issue is keeping me from playing it. I've been playing ES games since Daggerfall, and so far this is the best one yet. Would just like to have some assurance I'll be able to play it to its full potential without my save game becoming unusable.
