Save Data Transfer (different users)

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:09 pm

I know you guys could just tell me to get bent. But my ps3 got the yellow/red light of death recently.
Obviously I couldn't wait to play so I played on my brothers system and saved on a usb. Please tell me there is a way around the whole..
"this saved data is owned by another user. trophies cannot be unlocked and saving will not be allowed"
I know trophies can't be transferred but I want to save and beat the game, too far to start over. Facepalm X(

There isnt. If you're brother hasn't a jailbreaked consolen, than the save is restricted. I feel with you.

Search up "save transfer" on these forums for more help. From what i've gathered, someone recommended to create a new profile on the 2nd PS3 and link that with the same PSN ID that was on the profile on the 1st PS3. You also had to be signed in PSN on the 1st PS3 when you saved the game so the ID match could be written on the save file. After you transfer the save file to the 2nd PS3, sign in with the same PSN ID and try loading the save and it should work.

I don't have Skyrim yet so I can't try this out but I just tried with Gran Turismo today and it worked. Last time I tried copying the GT5 save, i didnt have internet on my 2nd PS3 therefore it couldnt match the PSN ID with the save. I hope this works because I'll be playing Skyrim on 2 different PS3s. If you try this, confirm if it works or not, thanks.

I definitely will give this a shot. This is definitely outdated software now, I understand restricting trophies, but saves? I mean it's not that big of a deal. Oh well.

I'm trying to get this working as well. I think it is stupid that you cant save. Trophies being restricted is understandable, but this is too far. I will let you know if i come across a solution.
