Frame rate issues [please address Bethesda]

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:26 pm

I know this has been posted quite a few times but I feel as if this really needs to be something that can not be ignored until it is fixed; It's outright criminal!
my save data is about 12 mb and I'm level 45. I love the game but its almost come to the point where i cant even go into major cities without becoming unplayable at some points.

Wow, level 45 and 12 mb? I got to lv. 30 and 9.5 mb before I gave up. Traded my copy for a copy of the 360 version where I bought it just an hour ago. Can't WAIT to move around in Whiterun unhindered! Glad I only "wasted" time and not money on the PS3 version.

Even if they bring out a patch, it's not going to work is it? I don't see how it can effect existing saved games

It may work, if you open your saved game, then save, then re-open it. But only time will tell.

If that's the case there's going to be a ton of extremely pissed off people who were able to invest a good amount of time in Skyrim thus far. Including me :banghead:

Started over on the 360 and now I'm in Riverwood (seems going off on my own exploring in the beginning cost me a lot of perks! Should have come here directly). I'm almost GLAD the framerate issue happened, because the 360 version looks WAY better in terms of graphics, and even gameplay (might be because I was so used to Oblivion which I played on a 360 though). Seriously, the graphics are sooo much more detailed on this version, it's ridiculous. Forget about lo res comparisons you've seen on youtube. Actually playing it, it's a huge difference. So not only did Bethesda screw up with the framerate, but also graphics detail. And the XBOX I borrowed isn't even a HDMI one, it's component! This is simply ridiculous... Such a damn shame that they couldn't have put together a nice version for us PS3 owners. Now I have to have this ugly white box with it's ridiculously huge power supply connected to it in my livingroom... ugh!

Your ps3 version must have some major bugs for the xbox version to look better.

Ive tried both.. and when upscaled to 3D, the xbox is horrid

Tried both on the same TV though? OK then, my PS3 copy had bugs... Did you see those screens (the ones NOT from the opening sequence that don't even match that's around) from the PC, PS3 and XBOX versions though? Those screens didn't lie. The textures on the PS3 version are seriously blurry.

Yep same TV.

Some people get hit by the low res texture bug the xbox users experience if they install the game to HDD. I luckily didnt, but it is there just not as obvious as the xbox one, hopefully the fix for the xbox concerning textures will fix the ps3 ones as well.

I didn'r install it to the HDD either. I remember at the beginning of the PS3 version thinking it was a bit choppy, but thought hey, just a very demanding game graphically. This time around, super solid framerate and graphics that looks MORE demanding. I'm telling you, believe it or not, the XBOX 360 version is way superior. And I'm not saying that gladly! I had to borrow this bloody console...
