My strange Workaround : AA8x better than noAA

Hello everyone,

Here is the workaround i found to play RAGE @60fps without gliths or hiccups.

This workaround is so dumb that I had to write it down on this forum since I am pretty sure this will help Id and ATI developper to figure out what is the issue with RAGE drivers.

My system :
Intel i7-2600
8 Go Ram
ATI 6970 2Go with Catalyst 11.10b2
Windows Seven 64

So, here it is I was using the RAGE patch 1 version on my PC using the last ATI driver 11.10 beta 2.
It was full of glitches and hiccups, as everyone fps going from 60fps to 40fps, the same issue that the non-patched version of the game...

But the main issue was that my GPU load was never over 25% really strange, like the game/driver was not using all the GPU power available...
Then I did something stupid in order to see how the game was slow, I changed the AntiAliasing game setting option from NONE to 8X.
And then, mirale ! The GPU load goes to 80% and the game is working without any issue @60fps !!!
This is like the drivers then really used all the GPU power available !

This is one of the dumbest workaround I ever saw but if it may helps you to play the game @60fps without any issue, try it !
If not, I just tried to help...

For me its the same. I used to reduce the graphics, which your normally do, when a game isn't running well. Then I changed to AA 4x, Antisop. High, VSync On. And voila Game is running smooth in 60 fps with almost non-existing texture-loadings.

Strange.
